Location and History

Thread Bear Quilting is located in Southeast Michigan between Tecumseh and Adrian in Raisin Township. Hours are by appointment.

I have been sewing garments, doing hand embroidery and cross stitch since I was 12 years old. I started machine embroidery in the late 90’s and finally got hooked on quilting in 2001.  After struggling with machine quilting on my domestic sewing machine, I finally realized that I needed to take it to the next level -- longarm quilting! And of course sharing my expertise and assisting others to finish their quilts.

The bottom line is that this is not just a business to me and I will treat your quilts as if they were my own.

Services

All quilting is done on a computerized Gammill Statler Stitcher. Thread Bear Quilting offers every type of machine quilting from edge-to-edge (all over) designs to custom hand-guided work at reasonable prices, high quality and with a fast turnaround.  In addition, I can create a one-of-a-kind label for your quilt using embroidery design software.

Pricing

My prices range from simple edge-to-edge designs at $.015 per square inch to complex, hand-guided custom work which can run $.05 per square inch or higher depending on the complexity. This means you can expect a small quilt with a simple design to run $60.00 whereas a large complex quilt might be in the $300.00 range. I can even create a one-of-a-kind quilting design for you.

When we meet for our initial consultation, we will discuss what you want for the quilt. Be sure to tell me if this will be for a competition. Some shows are no longer allowing longarm quilting unless it is a collaborative effort, so we'll need to discuss what your goals are.

I also can provide a full range of finishing services from binding to the custom embroidered label.

I offer discounts for charity quilts (but require proof that you've donated them), so let me know that as well.  First time customers get a 10% discount on their first quilt. If you refer a customer and they use my services you get a coupon for an additional 10% off your next quilt.
